Objectives and Context of the Conference
Rapid on-site detection of molecular species using sensors, with data transmission on a mobile phone, is a growing field of research. The applications are multiple, including for example, the personalized medicine of tomorrow (point of care diagnosis), environment monitoring (air and water quality), agrifood. It requires mass production of portable sensors that must be sensitive, selective, robust and reliable, and based on a detection technique where the species to be detected do not need to be labeled (label-free technique). Electrical detection is perfectly adapted and compatible with the technologies of microelectronics. The workshop addresses the use of semi-conducting nanomaterials as transducers. The realization of integrated end devices is a real challenge requiring their elaboration, integration and functionalization to be controlled.
The objective of this international workshop is to exchange on the last achievements on semi-conducting nanomaterials such as nanoparticles (0D), nanowires (1D) and very thin nanostructures (2D) for the electrical detection of biological compounds or molecules from various origins.
